Dinner (October 29, 2009)

Yesterday, two of our family's friends came over to our house for dinner! One was Uncle Kenneth (with his wife and son that's in kindergarten) and the other was Uncle Francis and his wife. I had a pretty good time playing with the little kid! His name is Ina or something (I don't know how to spell it.)

Anyway, we had a lot of food there, since it's a dinner with so many people. My mom made pasta, deep fried shrimp wrapped with spring roll wrappers, salad, and deviled eggs. Uncle Francis brought a whole plate of roast beef. After I finished eating, I went to play with Ina. First, I was really bored, but then I decided to teach him how to do log rolls and forward rolls. I also taught him how to draw a pig and a person. His parents were talking about how they were really stressed out because he had to do a book report. I was like, "Who does book reports when they're only kindergarteners!" He even has to include the beginning, middle, end, plot, and those kinds of other stuff. He goes to Collins Elementary, but I never knew that that school was so hard!

Anyways, after my brothers finished eating, they started to play Badminton using their hands as rackets and the ghost (that looks kind of like a birdie) that I made out of paper for Halloween as the birdie. So sad, Ina got excited and tore it apart. Then for the sheet of paper that I gave him to draw on, he crumpled it and used to play soccer with my brothers! But that's ok! I bet he just doesn't know much (yet). After, he wanted to play Chess, so I played against him. That game of Chess was a little unfair. He kept on moving the pawn backwards to capture my chess pieces when pawns are only aloud to move forwards and forwards-diagonal to capture. Whatever, at least he's just a little kid so I don't mind. It was pretty interesting to play with him!

Then, we had dessert, and I actually ate it! Uncle Kenneth brought a coffee cake, and my parents bought a birthday/Halloween cake. It was supposed to be my birthday cake for me since it was my birthday yesterday, but it's also a Halloween cake because it was shaped like a pumpkin. It was covered with fondant, and the stem of the pumpkin was also made of fondant. It was the first time I ate fondant, or even saw it and touched it in real life! It was fun to squish, but didn't taste too good. Now I know how much fun those professional cake decorating people have when they're covering cakes and making little sculptures from fondant!

So that was basically what happened to me during that night. :)
