So you might have been wondering what the P.T.A Reflection is. Some other schools might do it as well. Anyway, P=Parent, T=Teacher, and A=Aid (or Association, I forgot). I don't really know what Parent Teacher Aid/Association is, but the P.T.A. Reflection is a contest. Every year, they host a contest where there's a theme and you can enter things that are related to the theme. Different things you could enter are:
-Visual Arts (drawings, paintings, etc.)
-Photography (that's what I did!)
-Musical Composition (compose a song and play it)
-Film (an iMovie/skit/video)
-Literature (poems, stories, etc.)
-Dance Choreography (choreograph a dance and perform)
This year, the theme was, "Beauty is..." and our entries had to relate to something that we thought was beautiful. Last year, the theme was, "Wow!" and the people had to enter things that make people say, "Wow!" :P Haha.
So I entered something into photography this year. (I didn't do it last year.) I took a picture of the smoke from burning Tibetan incense. The incense is really pretty but is really hard to take due to the background color and because it moves around all the time. The moment at which the smoke is at a really cool pattern only lasts for a split second, so it's also really hard to capture.
But the thing I'm trying to get at is that I got in to the next level! This first level is only between people at my school, and they choose four entries from each category. The next level would be the P.T.A. Council Level (between more schools), then the P.T.A. District Level (all of the schools from the Santa Clara County), then the P.T.A. State Level, and lastly the P.T.A. National Level. For me, getting past the school level is already really good for me because I'm personally not very good at taking pictures. :P
Does anyone else go to a school that participates in the P.T.A. Reflections? If so, then tell me about it! I'm interested!
