NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Darn it. I'm just too used to publishing posts right after I finish them so I accidentally published the other one too early. Don't worry, my clock is not off by 10 something minutes. :P But I will try my best to publish this one at the correct time! If I don't, I'll try again...if 12:00 still hasn't come yet.
NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's New Years!!!!!!!!! Whippeeeeeee! I tried my best to publish this post right at 12:00 A.M. but the time at my house might be off by a few minutes or so. : ( I actually typed this up before time, so when the time says it's 12:00, all I have to do is press the button, "PUBLISH POST." :D Good idea, huh? Anyways, I hope you guys will have a wonderful new years!
P.S. In Amsterdam/Holland, there are probably a bunch of people getting ready to light fireworks and to drink lots of champagne/usually apple cider for kids. I went to Amsterdam to visit my aunt and uncle a few years ago, so that's how I know this. My uncle is actually an architect, so their house is REEEAAALLLYYY COOOL! We bought a bunch of mini fireworks to light, but the huge one was the exciting part. The huge firework was like the size of a mini cannon!
Anyways, my uncle is an architect, the house is really cool, blah blah blah. Now here's the part where I'm trying to get to. There's a staircase that leads to a door on the ceiling which opens up to the rooftop of the house! And the house is HIGH UP. It's 3 TALL stories high. But anyways, we all crowded around the staircase and set up the "cannon." When 12:00 came, my uncle shot it into the sky with this rocket launcher thingy (Just kidding! Truthfully, I remember the cannon but can't remember how it was shot out.) When it was shot out, it seemed like the whole Amsterdam could see it! And this MIGHT be true because Amsterdam pretty small. Also, even before we shot or huge cannon, it seemed like war had just begun! No silly, not because people were killing each other and having fights below out on the streets! Because some people's clocks were probably off (or ours might have been off :P) and everyone started to light fireworks at different times. And the fireworks are LOUD and BRIGHT. It looked like people were firing cannons everywhere!
Anyways, that's my story about Amsterdam. If you want to go somewhere overseas sometime because you're just too bored during summer or winter break, Amsterdam is a good place to tour around. There's lots of good food (especially the Pancake House) there! Near my aunt and uncle's house, there's also the house (the Annex or Attic or something) where Anne/Ann Frank hid when Hitler was being mean (trying to kill Jew's/sending them off to concentration camps.) I think her body might be there too. My family and I was going to go inside (it's open to public as a museum) but there was a huge line and we didn't want to wait.

Riddle!
It's riddle time again! And again, I think I should remind you that my riddle book is a little lame, so sorry if you're like, "these riddles are weird!" Anyways, here's a riddle that you can think about throughout your New Year's Eve day, which is today!
What has teeth, but cannot eat?
Another riddle that is alike this one is:
What has an eye, but cannot see?
Anyways, I hope you'll have fun during your New Year's Eve and the New Year!

Monterey Bay Aquarium
Today, I visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium! I had actually gone there many times but this is my first time actually going inside. It wasn't actually that interesting, but I still took a lot of pictures and videos because not everyone in my family went inside.
What I thought was cool/most interesting:
The JELLYFISH
-There were so many types of jellyfish! I don't really remember the names though, except for the "egg-yolk jelly." : )

What I thought was the cutest:
The SEA OTTERS
I learned something weird about:
The SEAHORSES
-In the seahorse family, males give birth to the babies instead of the females!
An interesting animal that I have never seen before:
The SEA DRAGONS
-There are 2 types-the Leafy Sea Dragon and the Weedy Sea Dragon. The Leafy one looks cooler in my opinion.

Mortimer's Christmas Manger
I searched up on the internet so now I know what the story is called! It's called, Mortimer's Christmas Manger by Karma Wilson.
Here's the story! It might be a little inaccurate because I might not remember everything.
Once upon a time lived a little mouse called Mortimer. He lived in a hole in a house that was really cold, scary, and uncomfortable. One day, he saw a huge tree outside decorated with lights and had a star on top. Next to the tree, there was a table, and on the table was a little house perfect for him! He decided to use the tree to climb up to the tabletop so he could get to the house. He got to the house and it was perfect, except for one thing. There were many statues of people just as small as he was; there were animals, 3 men riding on donkeys that wore fancy clothing, a baby and his parents, and a manger covered with straw.
"What are these statues doing here?" Mortimer said. "I'm going to push all of them away!"
However, Mortimer kept the manger covered with straw and used it as a bed. It was very comfortable and warm!
The next day, when Mortimer came back to his perfect house, he found the statues all back into their original place!
"I'm so frustrated!" Mortimer exclaimed. "I'm going to pull them all out again!"
After all of the statues were gone, he slept comfortable on the manger again.
The next night, when Mortimer came back to the house, it was not surprising that the statues were back in place. But as he was pulling the statues out, he saw people sitting around in a circle and heard the dad tell a story. The story was about a baby called Jesus that is the messiah and was born in a little manger. During the night he was born, 3 wise men rode on donkeys to Bethlehem to visit Jesus.
"Oh, so that's the reason why the little statues are all there," said Mortimer. "Now, I'm going to put all of the things back into their place."
So Mortimer pulled and dragged all of the little statues, but this time, he pulled them back inside.
That night, Mortimer was back into his little uncomfortable hole.
"Hmm, maybe Jesus can help me find a better home than this."
So Mortimer prayed to Jesus that night.
The next morning, he spotted a perfect house! It was covered with little candies and the roof and walls were all made from gingerbread cookies!
"I guess Jesus did find a perfect home just for me!" Mortimer exclaimed happily.
THE END

Decades
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!! Well, Christmas was yesterday but it's still boxing day today! Remember to still have the happy holiday spirit! In a few days, it would be 2010 and this decade would be over! This decade is known as, "the decade from hell" so I guess people are glad that it's almost over. So many sad things happened; 9/11 for example. But as I said before, it is almost over! 2010 and years after that would hopefully be better...

Christmas Eve Church Service
Yesterday, I went to church at night with my family, and it was soooo cool! Here are the things that happened during the service (they are in chronological order):
1.) It was really cold outside so when we stepped in, it felt so warm and comfortable!
2.) The service hadn't started yet so we got some time to have a drink apple cider that was available. There, they also had snacks like cookies (a bunch of different kinds: Christmasy decorative cookies, double chocolate chip cookies, M&M cookies, etc.), mini cupcakes (chocolate and yellow cake with chocolate/vanilla icing), brownies, and lots more! We drank the apple cider but didn't eat the sweets; we had just eaten a big Christmas Eve dinner!
3.) We went inside and headed towards the seats. There was a candle on every seat! Anyways, we sang a bunch of fun Christmas songs.
4.) After finishing a few songs, we listened to the elementary kids pastor tell us a story about a mouse named Mortimer who lived a really small and uncomfortable hole, but found a really nice home (gingerbread house) in the end. There's more about Christmasy stuff in the middle of the story but it's too long to tell right now. If you're interested, the story will be in another post.
5.) We sang a few more Christmas carols. (e.g., O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night, Hark the Herald Angel Sing)
6.) We listened to our pastor talk. He talked a little about how during Christmas, we shouldn't get distracted about things like presents for example, but to focus and remember that Jesus, the messiah, was born on that day. God sent Him to the Earth to save everyone from their sins by dying on the cross. But Jesus died on the cross many years later after He was born, so don't get confused about Christmas and Easter! The pastor also talked a lot more about Christmas but if I tell you everything, then this post would be really long!
(Easter is three days after the day Jesus died on the cross. Three days after Jesus was buried, he rose from his tomb. The day he rose from his tomb is now Easter Day.)
7.) We lit the candles that were on our seats while singing more songs.
8.) We listened to announcements (things that had/will be happening). The church's goal was to raise $25,000 to dig and build a well in El Salvador so the people there could drink clean water. Probably almost everyone chipped in some money, because we ended up raising $98,000! Yay, now they could build three wells and only need $2,000 more to build a fourth! :D
9.) We prayed, then by the time the whole service was done, it was already 12:00! It was Christmas already!
10.) Outside, free books were available. One of the books (which I took) is called, The Case for Christmas by Lee Strobel. Here's part of something that is said in the back of the book:
"The Case for Christmas invites you to consider why Christmas matters in the first place. Somewhere beyond the traditions of the holiday lies the truth. It may be more compelling than you've realized. Weigh the facts...and decide for yourself."
The other book was the New Testament from the bible for new believers. I didn't take that one because I already have a bible at home which has the New Testament as well as the Old Testament.
So that was what happened yesterday during the Christmas Eve service at my church.

Piano Recital
I had my Christmas piano recital today! Rhea was there. :)
I messed up soooo many times! Rhea, if you're reading this, I'm so sorry I messed up during the Chinese Dance! When I messed up, did I mess you up too? Oh, I'm so sorry! I just get so afraid when I get on the stage. At least now I'm done with it. After the recital, I was so happy! To think about it, I have nothing left to do for the whole Christmas break (except for working on the fictional narrative):
-one more wushu class on Tuesday
-done with piano (except for practice)
-done with french horn (except for practice)
-done with school
Yay! Now I get to relax. My relatives from Hong Kong are coming over on December 24, Christmas Eve! I'm so excited! I think we're going to the Grand Canyon, but I'm still not sure.

So Busy!
Uggh, I have a fictional narrative to finish! My language arts teacher never gives homework on regular school days, but she gives so much during the weekends and breaks! And when she does give homework, she gives a lot and expects us to finish it perfectly. I'd rather get a bit of homework every day. So I haven't even started the fictional narrative and we're supposed to finish by Sunday and then revise and add and take out little things throughout the rest of the break. Some of you guys might use Criterion at school and that's what we're using too. What I don't like (but teachers like) about Criterion is that when we're typing, the teacher can see all of the things in our accounts and they can see what we're typing. She can also leave comments and stuff. So if you don't finish by Sunday, she will know and might mark people down some points. I hate language arts!
Then on Sunday, I have a piano recital! I'm playing a song called the "Chinese Dance" from the Nutcracker with Rhea! It's really fun but I'm not too excited to perform the songs on a big stage.
Oh, and for people who are interested about when this year's winter equinox is (maybe every year is the same but I don't know if it is), it's on December 21. And for people who don't what an equinox is, it's a day of the year when there is exactly the same amount of hours during the day and the night. Winter equinox is during the winter, and the summer equinox is during the summer. Wait, is there a winter or summer or whatever equinox? I totally forgot everything I learned in science last year. I know there is such thing as an equinox for sure though!
Anyways, Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you guys will enjoy your holiday! I know I will. :P

December!
Time passes by so quickly. I can't believe it's already December! There is only about two more weeks of school, and it would be Winter Break already! It feels like school hasn't even really started yet, since I didn't really get as much homework as I had expected. I do get MUCH more homework than last year though. How's school going for everyone?
I think I'm just feeling more relaxed because I have more extra time now that I'm out of gymnastics (sorry gymnastics buddies!). But I guess it was a good decision for me to quit, because if I'm still doing gymnastics, I'll probably have to stay up every night until 12:30-1:00 or even maybe 2:00 to finish all of my homework. I survived last year though, because I pretty much got no homework every night.
Anyways, is anyone going anywhere interesting for the break? Some of my relatives that live in Hong Kong (China) are coming over for a while during the break! We might go together to Las Vegas for a day or two, then we might even go to the Grand Canyon! Either that or we might go skiing. Which do you guys think is better?

Church Mall Hunt
Hi! This post has something to do with the other one about church, because I want to invite you guys to a "Leader Mall Hunt" at my church! Basically, we go to the mall (transportation provided), and the leaders disguise themselves and we have to try to find them. It's supposed to be really fun, but I'm not sure because I've never gone to that event before. I'm going this year though! Here is the information about this if you're interested:
Who: us, other church people, and the leaders
What: Leader Mall Hunt
When: December 18 (We meet at the church at 7:00 P.M.)
Where: We meet at the church, then go to the mall, then come back.
Why: because it's fun!
But just to warn you guys, we'll be coming back to the church at around 10:00-10:30 P.M. to have pizza, and the event ends at around 11:00 P.M. so it's kind of late. But it's on December 18 which is a Friday, and there will be no school on Saturday. December 18 is also near the Christmas break, so that will also help. Just contact me if you're interested!
I HOPE YOU GUYS WILL BE ABLE TO COME AND WANT TO COME!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, this is a bit early because I don't have time to post anything tomorrow, and will probably be doing something else on Thanksgiving day and won't have time either. :P But Happy Thanksgiving anyway!
I have tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and the weekend off of school! It's kind of a good thing and a bad thing, good because I can have more time to play and to do whatever I want, and bad because after I finish playing, I'll still probably have hours left to do nothing and to be bored.
For me, a big part of Thanksgiving is the meal! Are you going to eat anything special? I remember I ate with Janicia last year for some reason (I forgot). Do you remember, Janicia? Well, Janicia's mom's cornbread is soooo good! We also had mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, Janicia's mom's stuffing (or something like that), TURKEY, and I don't really remember what else we had. Well, I'm not sure if we had mashed potatoes or not.
What are you guys going to do during the break if you do have a Thanksgiving break? Oh, and my family and I are probably going to Gilroy and Valley Fair for shopping on Black Friday. (Black Friday is the Friday right after Thanksgiving, and is when a lot of things are on sale.)
Sorry, this post might have been a little boring. I just want to wish you a

C.P.Y.O. Winter Concert
Hello, everyone:
As you should have read in one of my other posts, I'm in an orchestra called C.P.Y.O. Well, just in case some of you don't know what I wrote about in my last post about this, I was saying how the opening concert went and how people should play instruments and blah blah blah. This time, C.P.Y.O. is hosting their winter concert at some really nice place(I forgot the name of the hall), so they are making every family pay $80 for the child/children to perform. In return, they give each family 10 tickets. So (not including my parents), there's 8 tickets so we're basically paying $10 per ticket. My grandma is also going, so there will be 7 extra tickets. And since they make us pay $80, I don't want to waste the tickets.
My point is, if anyone wants to go, then I can give you guys free tickets! Janicia, my mom was asking if you and your family wanted to go, since Valerie might want to see it or something, right? Well, if anyone is interested, then just tell me in the comments section of this post, and I'll try to give you a ticket!

Lizard!!!
Something really scary happened to me last Wednesday!
So I was just cleaning my room and cleaning out all the stuff underneath my bed. By the way, my bed is really high with a bunch of drawers on the bottom so the space wouldn't be wasted. My mom brought in a really long stick with a bunch of feathers on one side to clean out the dust. I was sitting on the floor for at least half an hour sorting all of the construction paper there was, and I was really bored.
Finally, I finished cleaning out the messiest drawer! So I moved to the middle drawers. Since the really long stick with feathers that my mom brought in was in front of the drawers, I decided to take it away.
Now here comes the scary part...
I moved it to the side, and underneath of the feathers was a small lizard! I didn't get a good look at it because right after I saw it, I was so scared! I just walked slowly out of my room (I was still shocked about what I saw) and once I was out, I just began running to the work place/place everyone usually is in the house. I was soooo scared!!!
Then I refused to go into my room for the next two days, but my mom made me go in there. I'm still scared today! But she still makes me. :P Also, my room is now messier than it was before because I didn't finish cleaning up all of the other stuff. Almost all of the stuff are my brothers'! My whole family just puts everything they don't want underneath my bed because they think there's a lot of space there, but the space is starting to run out! That's why I had to clean up everything in the first place, because if it's neater, then there will me more space to put even more things.
Answer to Karina's question:
Q: What color was the lizard?
A: Well, I didn't really look closely. In fact, I only saw it for a split second, then I started to run/walk away! But I remember that it was grayish/darkish colored, and my mom says so too. I actually think it's more of a grayish forest green color, but I'm not sure.

Wushu/Kung-Fu
I forgot to tell you guys something a few weeks ago. Guess what? So (a few weeks ago) at Wushu/Kung-Fu, I made my arial (not sure about spelling) on my left leg! Now I can do it on both legs! Woohoo!
For people who don't know what arials are, they're just cartwheels except you don't put your hands down on the ground. It's basically like a side flip in the air. It might sound hard to you, but don't worry, it took me a looonnnggg, looooooonnggg time to make it over without putting my hands down. So it's really hard for me too!

French
Speaking of French food, let's talk about French (the language)! I'm taking French at school, but most people take Spanish which I dislike. If any of you gets an opportunity to take a language course at school, French is my recommendation (Chinese is good too).
The French teacher at Miller makes learning really fun and easy, and she's really nice too!
So you're probably wondering about why I'm telling you about all this, right? Well, I want to teach you guys some French in this post! Here are some basic things that people should know how to say: (Those words aren't pronounced like how you think they are pronounced. If you want to know, just ask Janicia!)
-Bonjour=Hello
-Au Revoir=Good bye
-Merci=Thank you
-Ca va?=How are you?/How are things going?/How's everything?
-Je m'appelle...=My name is...
-Comment t'appelles-tu?=What is your name?

French Crepe Recipe (continued...)
So this recipe below is a French Crepe recipe. (I hope you've already figured it out by now. :P) I got this recipe from my brother's French class. They had to translate the recipe from French to English.
Anyway, when Qian Yi came over to my house a few weeks ago, we tried it out! It turned out great, but just remember to use the All Purpose flour instead of the kind of flour people use to make bread. It doesn't make much of a difference, but that's just what the recipe says to do.
By the way, these crepes go really well with the Mascarpone Cheese fruit dip (the recipe is posted below) and fruits!

Daylight Savings
During Sundays (sometimes Saturday night), my family and I go to church. Well, today is Sunday. In the morning, my parents woke my brother and I for church. My other brother always manages to wake himself up early in the morning during the weekends. We got ready, and went to church.
When we arrived, we weren't even late, but the parking lot was literally full with not even one space left! Plus, there are always many crowds of people greeting friends and meeting new people outside of the buildings until the service started. But today, it something was different.
My brother and I walked over to the Off Road (Junior High/Middle School) place, and there were only 3 or 4 adults standing there talking. There are usually 10-20 people that are at least 20 minutes early, but today, there was nobody! I was bending down and looking for my name tag, and the adult turned around. She said to me, "You must have forgotten about Daylight Savings! You're an hour early!" I was like, "Oh" and I had nothing to say. Then the woman said, "Aww, you could have slept in an extra hour!" Then I was like, "Oh" again and my brother and I just walked away.
No wonder nobody was outside! Everyone was in the middle of a service! Haha.
So my family and I went over to O.S.H. (Orchard Supply Hardware) and my dad refunded something. Then, we went over to Barnes & Nobles and read some books!
We finally went back to the church and went to the second service, which is the service we always go to anyways. We go to the second service because the first service doesn't have an Off Road service.
By the way, I was supposed to post this before, like 2-3 weeks ago, but I had it as a draft and I forgot about posting it. So this post is a little late! Sorry everyone!

Mascarpone Cheese Sweet Fruit Dip Recipe
Here's the recipe to a fruit dip that tastes really good! If you don't believe me, ask Qian Yi!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
-1 cup of Mascarpone cheese
-2 tablespoons of Honey
-1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
-2 tablespoons of Heavy Cream
-the seeds scraped from 1 Vanilla Bean
Directions:
-Mix everything together.
-If you like a harder dip, then just mix it until everything is just combined.
If you want a more fluffy sauce/dip, then whip the heavy cream separately
and mix it in the other ingredients. You might also need to put more heavy
cream. It will be lighter/softer.

Miller P.T.A. Reflections
So you might have been wondering what the P.T.A Reflection is. Some other schools might do it as well. Anyway, P=Parent, T=Teacher, and A=Aid (or Association, I forgot). I don't really know what Parent Teacher Aid/Association is, but the P.T.A. Reflection is a contest. Every year, they host a contest where there's a theme and you can enter things that are related to the theme. Different things you could enter are:
-Visual Arts (drawings, paintings, etc.)
-Photography (that's what I did!)
-Musical Composition (compose a song and play it)
-Film (an iMovie/skit/video)
-Literature (poems, stories, etc.)
-Dance Choreography (choreograph a dance and perform)
This year, the theme was, "Beauty is..." and our entries had to relate to something that we thought was beautiful. Last year, the theme was, "Wow!" and the people had to enter things that make people say, "Wow!" :P Haha.
So I entered something into photography this year. (I didn't do it last year.) I took a picture of the smoke from burning Tibetan incense. The incense is really pretty but is really hard to take due to the background color and because it moves around all the time. The moment at which the smoke is at a really cool pattern only lasts for a split second, so it's also really hard to capture.
But the thing I'm trying to get at is that I got in to the next level! This first level is only between people at my school, and they choose four entries from each category. The next level would be the P.T.A. Council Level (between more schools), then the P.T.A. District Level (all of the schools from the Santa Clara County), then the P.T.A. State Level, and lastly the P.T.A. National Level. For me, getting past the school level is already really good for me because I'm personally not very good at taking pictures. :P
Does anyone else go to a school that participates in the P.T.A. Reflections? If so, then tell me about it! I'm interested!

Dinner (October 29, 2009)
Yesterday, two of our family's friends came over to our house for dinner! One was Uncle Kenneth (with his wife and son that's in kindergarten) and the other was Uncle Francis and his wife. I had a pretty good time playing with the little kid! His name is Ina or something (I don't know how to spell it.)
Anyway, we had a lot of food there, since it's a dinner with so many people. My mom made pasta, deep fried shrimp wrapped with spring roll wrappers, salad, and deviled eggs. Uncle Francis brought a whole plate of roast beef. After I finished eating, I went to play with Ina. First, I was really bored, but then I decided to teach him how to do log rolls and forward rolls. I also taught him how to draw a pig and a person. His parents were talking about how they were really stressed out because he had to do a book report. I was like, "Who does book reports when they're only kindergarteners!" He even has to include the beginning, middle, end, plot, and those kinds of other stuff. He goes to Collins Elementary, but I never knew that that school was so hard!
Anyways, after my brothers finished eating, they started to play Badminton using their hands as rackets and the ghost (that looks kind of like a birdie) that I made out of paper for Halloween as the birdie. So sad, Ina got excited and tore it apart. Then for the sheet of paper that I gave him to draw on, he crumpled it and used to play soccer with my brothers! But that's ok! I bet he just doesn't know much (yet). After, he wanted to play Chess, so I played against him. That game of Chess was a little unfair. He kept on moving the pawn backwards to capture my chess pieces when pawns are only aloud to move forwards and forwards-diagonal to capture. Whatever, at least he's just a little kid so I don't mind. It was pretty interesting to play with him!
Then, we had dessert, and I actually ate it! Uncle Kenneth brought a coffee cake, and my parents bought a birthday/Halloween cake. It was supposed to be my birthday cake for me since it was my birthday yesterday, but it's also a Halloween cake because it was shaped like a pumpkin. It was covered with fondant, and the stem of the pumpkin was also made of fondant. It was the first time I ate fondant, or even saw it and touched it in real life! It was fun to squish, but didn't taste too good. Now I know how much fun those professional cake decorating people have when they're covering cakes and making little sculptures from fondant!
So that was basically what happened to me during that night. :)

C.P.Y.O. Opening Concert
Yesterday was the C.P.Y.O Opening Concert at West Valley College. (C.P.Y.O.=California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra) There are two groups, the Associate group and the Senior group. I'm in Associate, and my two brothers are in Senior.
The Associate group played all 4 movements of the Mozart Symphony #25 in g minor and the Senior group played the Finlandia Overture by Sibelius, the Dvorak Cello Concerto in b minor (1st movement), and all 4 movements of the New World Symphony in e minor also by Dvorak.
The Mozart Symphony #25 is so boring! Since I play the French Horn, I never get the melody in that song. And because I don't have the melody, it's easier to get lost so I messed up a bit on the last part of the 1st movement. :P So that was really boring. It's not really fair because my brothers in the Senior group gets to play fun songs. Well, I guess they get to play fun songs because they're better. :(
Well, if anyone plays an instrument like:
-violin/viola -bassoon
-cello -french horn
-flute -bass/double bass
-clarinet -percussion
-oboe -trombone
-tuba -trumpet
and other stuff, you can join C.P.Y.O. so I won't be so bored! Just kidding. But I think that joining orchestras (doesn't matter which one) is a good experience for everyone, especially for wind players who play in bands at school because it's good to have experience playing with strings, not only with other winds.

I'm Leaving the Wonderful Hong Kong!
My brothers, parents, and I are leaving to Shanghai today! We're staying in Shanghai for two days, then we're heading to a bunch of different cities in Tibet for a very interesting, maybe even once in a lifetime experience! We might even visit the Himalayas Mountains! Wow, something very exciting to look forward to, eh?
Right now, it's 11:35 A.M. (sharp!) so I probably woke up at around 10:00 A.M. I really want to go swim! I haven't swum for at least a week because during the first few days I came to Hong Kong, there was bad weather, and I was sick just recently. Now that good weather and good health has come back, I leave! This happens ever year though, so I'm not surprised. I actually can go swim right now, but my mom won't let me. It's not even 12 yet, and our flight is at 5:00 P.M. But as people say, "It's better safe than sorry!"
Byron is here right now playing with my brother. I think I told you that Mark made a Facebook (DEFINITELY) not to add people as friends and those kinds of Facebook stuff, but for the sake of playing the games. He and Byron loves playing Restaurant City, and they just started playing a new game called Pet Society where you create a pet and play games and stuff with it. I'm not totally familiar with what it's about yet since this game is new to me too, although I'm not playing it.
I'm going to eat lunch later then I'm leaving to Shanghai! So this is going to be my last post for a long time because this website is blocked in China as I had said before. :( Ok, bye now!!!
Church + Visit to Grandpa
I didn't write a blog for yesterday because I came back at 11 something from my grandparent's house. But now you know that I went to my grandparent's house yesterday!
Today we went to my parents' old church and saw a bunch of old church friends. I don't remember any of them, but most of them usually say, "You've grown so much!" or "The last time I saw you, you were still so young!" Well, I guess I'm still very young, but.....you know what I mean! We went to the church service then went to lunch with some of the church friends. My aunt also came to the lunch so I was just talking to her for the whole time. :P It wasn't very interesting because I really don't remember anyone, so there's not much to say about the lunch for today.
Then we met up with my grandma and great/grand uncle in the MTR (Subway) Station to go visit my grandpa's grave in the cemetery. It wasn't very hot but I was wearing the tight, black "Bathing Ape" t-shirt so I was sweating a lot. My brother was wearing a long-sleeved shirt!
Well that's actually about it for today! I'm going to try to wake up tomorrow morning to swim because I'm leaving to Shanghai tomorrow! If I don't post something tomorrow, I might not be able to tell you any more about Shanghai and Tibet, because this website is blocked in China! :( I'll still be able to email you guys though, unless the government has decided to block Yahoo and Gmail also! I highly doubt that, but you know, anything could happen! And again, I'll try to post something tomorrow, but I have to leave at 3:00 P.M. because our flight is at 5:00 P.M. Bye!!!! And please check your emails often! Bye!!!

Day of Boredom
Sigh........soooooo bored!!!! Well, not really. I just went over to Byron's house with my brothers to practice piano while my brothers played Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I'm watching a commercial right now, and it shows these two people eating this tea flavored jelly rolled in sugar or coconut shreds or something. Then they're like, mmmm!!!! Don't almost all food commercials go like that? Like they show someone eating the food, then they say it's "sooooo good!" or they pretend to be enjoying the food or something like that.
I was going to go see the doctor today, but I didn't want to. :P And I had a feeling that my dad didn't really want me to either. My dad cut up a clove of garlic and mixed some congee with it, and told me to swallow it. In case you didn't already know, I'm not very good at swallowing things! When I eat stuff, I have to chew it until it's like, really chewed up. When I was little (maybe 1st grade-3rd or 4th grade), I couldn't swallow steak or meat that was hard because I was afraid it would only go halfway down my throat and it would get stuck. Oh! And I also couldn't swallow vegetables when I was small. So sad. On the other hand, my brother Mark is the best in the family at swallowing stuff. Well, maybe not better than my parents though.
Now, let me tell you a little story I remember that happened when I was in 1st grade. My parents, brothers, and I went to Martinez to visit my great/grand aunt and uncle. When we were leaving, my dad wanted my brothers and I to each eat one of those fish oil pills, and he wanted us to eat a full pill! Do you know what a fish oil pill is? That time, I was in 1st grade (as you should already know), Mark in 2nd grade, and Matthew in 3rd grade. Unsurprisingly, Mark just swallowed it in a split second, almost as soon as we got the pills. For me, I really couldn't swallow it and I'm the youngest, so I guess my dad didn't really expect me to be able to swallow it anyway. So my pill went to Matthew to swallow. He tried to swallow it, but he either threw up or he spit it out. We got milk instead of water, so he either had white throw up or he spit it out. I don't really remember that part very well.
So that's the story! Not very interesting, but it's just kind of related to what I was talking about.
Anyway, back to the topic! So I said that I wasn't really good at swallowing stuff and I have to chew it a lot...blah...blah.....my dad wanted me to swallow garlic.....blah....blah... Ok! I really, REALLY couldn't swallow the UNCOOKED, FRESH garlic (Even with congee! Well, I never really liked garlic, whether or not it's cooked) so I didn't have to! Yay! After that is when we went over to Byron's house. I came back earlier because my brothers are going to take a tennis class with Byron. They're still not done yet! Actually, they're done, but they're just walking over now.
Ok! That's it for today! See you next time! (Haha, I made it sound like it's a T.V. show or something. :P)

Back from Macau
First day:
We rode on the 1 hour ferry (boat) to Macau. When I walked into the ferry terminal, there was Chinese (of course), English, and some really weird language! I was like, "what the heck?" There was this thing where it said "visitors" and it also said "visitantes" or something. Then my mom told me that people speak Cantonese and Portugese in Macau. Then I was like, "what the heck?" again. :P Ok. So we went to the hotel we were staying in so we could put down our luggage. Since we could only check in to our hotel room at 1:30, we went to eat lunch at the food court. Anyway.....after 1:30, we went to our hotel room. Our hotel room is sooooo cool! We stayed in the Venetian Hotel in the Bella Suites. There are over 3,000 suites there, I think. :O
After checking in, we went to the Ruins of St.Paul's Church. It is one of the most famous landmarks of Macau, and was a Portugese cathedral (church building) dedicated to St.Paul. I have many pictures! My dad is really interested in photography so whenever we go to trips, he takes like a gazillion pictures! At the Ruins of St.Paul's, there was also a mini museum of some ancient artifacts.
Night:
For dinner, we ate at a restaurant where they specialize in real Shark's Fin Soup! It was ok I guess, nothing really special. The vegetables was really good, but only because they probably added a bunch of salt. :P After dinner, we went back to the hotel and my brothers and I went to the "Qube" to play. It was so fun! In the "Qube," there are really big and fun slides, places to climb around (kind of like the Jungle except much bigger and more fun), a pool table, computers to go online, and a gaming place with a Wii, Play Station, etc. I have videos of the slides. There is a blue slide, rainbow colored slide (not scary), and a red HUGE slide. The red slide goes literally vertical almost the whole way down. It's soooooooo scary! It doesn't look scary at all in the video, but it really is! The blue one was scary the first few times, but then it gets really fun. It's the most fun slide for me. For the rainbow colored slide, you need a sack to slide down but I don't know why. My oldest brother just played pool the whole time except when he helped video tape stuff. It was also really hot because we had to wear long pants, long sleeved shirts, and socks so we don't get burns from climbing around. In the video, I look so weird in the clothes they gave me. Now, the video!
Second Day:
We ate breakfast at "Cafe Deco" (in the hotel). It was a breakfast buffet, so we didn't need to eat lunch. During our second day in Macau, we first went to this lighthouse place up in the hill. We had to walk up a bunch of stairs and it was so hot! Next to the lighthouse (which we were not allowed to go inside of) was an old church. Now it's kind of like a mini museum, but people just go in there to cool down because they put air conditioning inside. :P
Then we went to the Museum of Macau which talks about the history of Macau. There are three floors in the museum. On the first floor, they talked about the overall history of Macau and religion. The second floor talked about the customs and the living environment of people who lived in Macau a long time ago. There were some examples of houses of the poor and the wealthy. The third floor talked about photography and the arts of old Macau. There were a bunch of old and faded pictures and examples of some of the oldest cameras ever invented. There was a display of the oldest camera, and I have absolutely no idea how it's supposed to work! They didn't explain it either! It's just a wooden box like thing with a hole in it. Well, it had some wierd cutting inside, but I couldn't really see inside it very well. I thought the first floor was the most interesting, but sadly I didn't get to learn much because we went through the museum too quickly. :(
We were thinking of going to the Wine Tasting/Factory place, but that's when I started getting sick. Well, I didn't throw up or anything. I was just feeling kind of dizzy, so we decided not to go. We went to eat dinner at "Fernando," a Portugese restaurant. We ordered salad, red bean pork, grilled fish, veal that tasted a lot like pork, and roasted suckling pig. That pork's skin was so hard, I couldn't even bite it! It was supposed to be crunchy though. The red bean pork was like those Mexican beans. The restaurant is also next to a beach so we were going to play there, but we decided not to for some weird reason. We went back to the hotel to get our luggage back and we rode on the same ferry back to Hong Kong.
So that was my trip to Macau! I didn't really like it. All I liked was the hotel and the "Qube." I'm still at home and my brothers, mom, grandma, and Byron still hasn't come back from lunch yet. I think barely any time passed by yet, but it just feels like it has been a long time already because I'm so bored. :( I'm going to put the pictures and videos in later because I've waited for a long time and they still aren't loading!

"A Bathing Ape"
Does anyone know a store/brand called, "A Bathing Ape," or "Bape" that's made in Japan? Well, my aunt (Faith and Will's mom) gave my brothers, cousin (Byron), and I "Bathing Ape"/"Bape" t-shirts. When I tried out my t-shirt yesterday, it was a little small for me so we got the reciept and tried to exchange it for a bigger size at the store today. It's so expensive! Each shirt was $600 Hong Kong, which is about $77 U.S.!!!! Mine is just a plain t-shirt that says "A Bathing Ape" in a weird font and rainbow colors on the front!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What does the name mean? Like a monkey/gorilla is taking a shower or something! I don't get how people thought of that name. And the weirdest thing is that on the label or the logo, it says "Ape shall not kill Ape." o__o (I'm not sure how to make a correct face. My mom's the one who told me how to make this one.) Try going to www.bape.com. That's the website. You can probably find the logo there. It looks really detailed.
I rode on the tram there, and it's really cool! I have a video. It's kind of bad though, and it doesn't tell you much because I took it right when we were exiting.
We got to the store, and there is nothing special about it! I was disappointed, actually. And here's the most ridiculous thing about the store. When I tried to exchange it, they said all of my kind of t-shirts are sold out! And my aunt bought it 1 or 2 days ago when it was a new product! In fact, all t-shirts are sold out! That was hard to believe. They only have shirts with a collar now until they get more stock. I really don't get why people would buy such an expensive but plain and not worth t-shirt! Well, it's made in Japan, and Japanese stuff are usually really expensive. I don't feel too bad though because if you buy something in Hong Kong, you can't refund it. I just forgot about that when I went to return the t-shirt. And since my grandma brought me there, she didn't really mention it either.
After we came back, we went swimming again. It's fun! Byron was with us the whole day again, and he's still here. I have to eat dinner now, so bye!

Swimming Fun Again!
I know I didn't post anything about July 4, but I didn't do much. I just went to my grandparent's house again to visit. The visits are really fun though!
Today we went to church with my cousin Byron, then went to eat lunch. After lunch, we went to a Hong Kong club where there's golf, swimming pool, changing rooms, and lots of other stuff.
So my brothers, Byron, Byron's parents, and I went to that place. While Byron's dad went golfing, Byron, my brothers, and I went swimming. (Byron's mom watched over us.) At swimming, there was a mini pool about 2 feet deep for little toddlers. Then, there's a big pool for everyone else. It goes so deep! If my oldest brother stands on the deepest part and he raises his arms, his hands don't even reach the surface! So maybe Yao Ming would be able to reach it with his head still above the water because my oldest brother is not much shorter than my dad. In the most shallow part of the pool, if I go on flat feet, my head is barely above the water. We played this game where we have two rings, and somebody throws it to somewhere in the pool and the rest of us have to go and race to get it. I only got it once in the shallow part because I didn't want to dive so deep in the already deep part. I'm not a very good swimmer, to let you know. :( Then, we used the floaty noodles and played this thing where two people hold each end of the noodle and some other person tries to jump over it into the pool. That way, we won't get hurt! And if you land on the noodle, it wouldn't hurt and it wouldn't break either.
After playing around for about an hour, the sky got REALLY black, and we saw the black cloud go slowly over us. It was scary! Actually, not really because we got into the changing rooms before it started to rain. It only rained really hard at first, and I was taking a shower anyway so I couldn't hear it. :P The changing/shower room is really cool by the way! In the counter place, there's a huge mirror and some chairs where people can sit and slowly put on make-up, or do their hair, or whatever they want to do. On it, there are a box of clean combs, and a box to put used combs. There are also blow dry things, sunscreen, baby powder (in the kids place), lotion, hand sanitizer, showers (obviously), clean towels, bathrooms, and lockers. And don't worry, there's a children's side and an adult's side! I went to the children's side of course.
We went to dinner with everyone, like Faith, Will, Byron, etc.
I couldn't sleep yesterday! That's why I woke up at like, 10:45 A.M. :P

Dinner with Grandparents and Aunt and Uncle
Remember how I talked about my uncle's jewelry shop and stuff? Well, I guess that uncle is my great uncle or my grand uncle or something. My uncle (not great/grand) publishes books with my aunt. My aunt also does acupuncture and knows stuff about Chinese medicine.
Today, we went to eat dinner with my grandparents and my aunt and uncle. But before that, my cousin (Byron) followed us around during lunch (AGAIN!!!). I don't mind though, because he just plays with my brothers. We went to a huge mall in Sha Tin, and we ate at Spaghetti House for lunch. It's just the usual spaghetti, like the stuff people eat a lot in the United States. They give us garlic bread to go with the soup that goes with the meal though! Then, we walked around, and I got a pair of Converse shoes! I already had a red one when I was in 2nd grade, but it got small really fast. It probably got small though because it was the high-top kinds, like the ones that go up to your ankles. And it was really hard to put on. So this time, I got a regular one that's blue. The blue is hard to explain. Not very dark, but not bright. Kind of dirty blue, I guess. And Vasudha, if you're reading this, mine is exactly like the ones that you have! :)
We had to rush to leave because my brothers and I were supposed to go to a tennis lesson at Byron's house, but then it was canceled after we started to leave. It was canceled because the teacher said it was "raining," but the weather was perfectly fine!!!! Well, I think that was the case. But oh well! We went swimming instead! Haha!!
At the dinner, the food was all food with Chinese herbs in it. At least some of the stuff. That's why everything tasted kind of earthy, I guess. Tasted healthy and earthy, basically. The soup was kind of like medicine.
After dinner, since the mall is in the same area where my grandparents live, we walked up to their house. We stayed there and watched some T.V., and my aunt massaged us. She can tell how healthy people are by massaging them and feeling they're back, etc. She can read people's palms, but my palm is messed up because of all of my calluses. :P When it was like, 11 something, we went home.
I brushed my teeth and took a shower, so I have to go sleep now! And by the way, tomorrow is our 4th of July! But nobody celebrates it other than the Americans. Actually.....it is the 4th of July right now! Because it's 12:35 A.M.!
It's too late and my dad's taking a shower, so he can't help me put the pictures on today. Ooops! I mean, he can't help me put the pictures right now. :P Many hours later today, we'll wake up from our "nap," and he will help me! So today, I will right more.
P.S. The last paragraph sounds so weird!! Also, I hate this font. Don't you?

Visit to my Uncle's Shop
Today was my first time this summer visiting my uncle's shop. The shop sells jewelry like necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches, etc., and also helps people make tailor-made tuxedos and other types of formal clothing.

My cousin Byron came along too. There's a store really close to my uncle's shop that sells beef ball and fish ball noodle soup, so we got some of that to eat. We didn't really do anything else though. Since there are really long glass boxes to display the jewelry, I wiped them and cleaned them up. The shop is really clean though, so I didn't have much to do. It's really fun to wipe and clean the shop though! Then once as
I was walking from the back of the shop after going to the bathroom, a huge cockroach appeared from somewhere, and I was sooo scared! Luckily, my dad was next to me and he's used to cockroaches, so he just stepped on it and it kind of got squished. Don't worry, my dad was wearing tennis shoes! People who live in Hong Kong for a while get used to seeing cockroaches and other really scary insects, so they just step on them. I wonder if when people step on them, do they feel it getting squished, and do they feel it going, "crunch," "crunch" or something? To me, cockroaches look really crunchy, like snails. Anyway, after my dad stepped on it, it tried to move around and escape, but it fell over onto it's back so that it's stomach was facing upwards. One of the workers there got a toothpick and stuck it into the cockroach so he doesn't have to touch it to throw it away. It was sooo gross! My dad even has pictures! And for my gymnastics friends, doesn't a dead cockroach remind you of Shipwreck? What was the cockroach one called again? I don't remember.
We rode on the Taxi home, and I'm about to eat dinner. Right now, I'm also watching the Hong Kong news. It's talking about Micheal Jackson (AGAIN!!!!) and about his interview taken place recently before he died. The interview is kind of weird, because they asked him about what he usually likes to buy, and talks kind of about his hobbies other than singing and dancing. Apparently, he likes to buy paintings and pictures and stuff. I'm not sure though, because I'm not really paying attention too much. My brothers and my cousin Byron is playing some games on Facebook. It's weird how Mark and Byron like to play this game called "Restaurant City" (in Facebook). In Restaurant City, you have to make a restaurant and you earn money by making food. The faster you make the food, the more money you make. Also, you can only make food faster if you buy a better stove, I think.
Ok! I have to go eat dinner now! I'll add some pictures of the cockroach later!

Swimming Fun!!
Today was the 2nd Anual Hilltop Swimming Gala! Hilltop is the name of the apartment/house where my grandma lives. There's a huge swimming pool downstairs, so every year, during the summer, there's a swimming party open for anyone who lives in Hilltop. People who don't live in Hilltop could also go I guess,
but nobody else knows about it. :P
My brothers, parents, and I were supposed to go eat lunch with my grandparents today, but we didn't have enough time because we had to make it to the swimming thing. We went to a Japanese restaurant where I ate the "Eel over Rice." It's so good! If any of you every go to a Japanese restaurant, try Ell over Rice. That's what it's usually called. It's also called "Unagi," I think.
<---My 2 year old cousin Will
<---My 2 year old cousin Will
We went home to wait for my cousin so we could go down together. For the Swimming Gala, there was a huge inflatable water obstacle course with a slide at the end. I only went on it once because I'm scared to go on the slide. For some reason, whenever I jump in the water, water always gets into my nose and it feels weird. Water still gets in my nose even if I blow out as I'm jumping into the water! Anyway, there's also a bunch of free food and snacks there! I didn't eat much though because we're still going to have dinner later. There was soda, like Coke, Mountain Dew, Sprite, Cream Soda, and some other drin
ks. For the food, there were chicken wings, fried curry spring roll, 2 types of pasta, curry fish balls, curry beef balls, Char Siu, mini sausage, regular sized sausage, and some other stuff. There was so much food! Well, I guess they should have a lot of food because there were so many people there. It's so sad that my other cousins couldn't come because one of them has a cold. They will only be coming for the dinner, but they have not arrived yet. The picture from left to right: Byron, brother (Mark), me, brother (Matthew)
Ok! Now I'm watching T.V., but it's showing commercials right now. Everyone left about 35 minutes ago, and my brother (Mark) went with my cousin (Byron) to his house for a sleepover. Byron is older than Faith and Will (my other cousins), but still younger
than my brothers and I.
When everyone was still here, we ate dinner and played around for a while. Will (2 years old) really likes cars and stuff, so he was looking out the big window and he kept on saying, "double decker!" In Hong Kong, there are 2 storied buses. So that's what it is. He can't really say it though. :P Also, when I gave those fruit gummies to Faith and Will (individually packaged), Will started being really hyper and threw the packages of gummies everywhere. He was laughing and screaming and he was so happy! It's really funny! And he started stomping on them! I have a video (Mark helped me take it), but he already calmed down so he wasn't as active. I can't put the video here because it doesn't work. :( I put a picture though!
