Church Mall Hunt

Hi! This post has something to do with the other one about church, because I want to invite you guys to a "Leader Mall Hunt" at my church! Basically, we go to the mall (transportation provided), and the leaders disguise themselves and we have to try to find them. It's supposed to be really fun, but I'm not sure because I've never gone to that event before. I'm going this year though! Here is the information about this if you're interested:

Who: us, other church people, and the leaders
What: Leader Mall Hunt
When: December 18 (We meet at the church at 7:00 P.M.)
Where: We meet at the church, then go to the mall, then come back.
Why: because it's fun!

But just to warn you guys, we'll be coming back to the church at around 10:00-10:30 P.M. to have pizza, and the event ends at around 11:00 P.M. so it's kind of late. But it's on December 18 which is a Friday, and there will be no school on Saturday. December 18 is also near the Christmas break, so that will also help. Just contact me if you're interested!

I HOPE YOU GUYS WILL BE ABLE TO COME AND WANT TO COME!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, this is a bit early because I don't have time to post anything tomorrow, and will probably be doing something else on Thanksgiving day and won't have time either. :P But Happy Thanksgiving anyway!

I have tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and the weekend off of school! It's kind of a good thing and a bad thing, good because I can have more time to play and to do whatever I want, and bad because after I finish playing, I'll still probably have hours left to do nothing and to be bored.

For me, a big part of Thanksgiving is the meal! Are you going to eat anything special? I remember I ate with Janicia last year for some reason (I forgot). Do you remember, Janicia? Well, Janicia's mom's cornbread is soooo good! We also had mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, Janicia's mom's stuffing (or something like that), TURKEY, and I don't really remember what else we had. Well, I'm not sure if we had mashed potatoes or not.

What are you guys going to do during the break if you do have a Thanksgiving break? Oh, and my family and I are probably going to Gilroy and Valley Fair for shopping on Black Friday. (Black Friday is the Friday right after Thanksgiving, and is when a lot of things are on sale.)

Sorry, this post might have been a little boring. I just want to wish you a
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!

C.P.Y.O. Winter Concert

Hello, everyone:

As you should have read in one of my other posts, I'm in an orchestra called C.P.Y.O. Well, just in case some of you don't know what I wrote about in my last post about this, I was saying how the opening concert went and how people should play instruments and blah blah blah. This time, C.P.Y.O. is hosting their winter concert at some really nice place(I forgot the name of the hall), so they are making every family pay $80 for the child/children to perform. In return, they give each family 10 tickets. So (not including my parents), there's 8 tickets so we're basically paying $10 per ticket. My grandma is also going, so there will be 7 extra tickets. And since they make us pay $80, I don't want to waste the tickets.

My point is, if anyone wants to go, then I can give you guys free tickets! Janicia, my mom was asking if you and your family wanted to go, since Valerie might want to see it or something, right? Well, if anyone is interested, then just tell me in the comments section of this post, and I'll try to give you a ticket!

Lizard!!!

Something really scary happened to me last Wednesday!

So I was just cleaning my room and cleaning out all the stuff underneath my bed. By the way, my bed is really high with a bunch of drawers on the bottom so the space wouldn't be wasted. My mom brought in a really long stick with a bunch of feathers on one side to clean out the dust. I was sitting on the floor for at least half an hour sorting all of the construction paper there was, and I was really bored.

Finally, I finished cleaning out the messiest drawer! So I moved to the middle drawers. Since the really long stick with feathers that my mom brought in was in front of the drawers, I decided to take it away.

Now here comes the scary part...

I moved it to the side, and underneath of the feathers was a small lizard! I didn't get a good look at it because right after I saw it, I was so scared! I just walked slowly out of my room (I was still shocked about what I saw) and once I was out, I just began running to the work place/place everyone usually is in the house. I was soooo scared!!!

Then I refused to go into my room for the next two days, but my mom made me go in there. I'm still scared today! But she still makes me. :P Also, my room is now messier than it was before because I didn't finish cleaning up all of the other stuff. Almost all of the stuff are my brothers'! My whole family just puts everything they don't want underneath my bed because they think there's a lot of space there, but the space is starting to run out! That's why I had to clean up everything in the first place, because if it's neater, then there will me more space to put even more things.

Answer to Karina's question:
Q: What color was the lizard?
A: Well, I didn't really look closely. In fact, I only saw it for a split second, then I started to run/walk away! But I remember that it was grayish/darkish colored, and my mom says so too. I actually think it's more of a grayish forest green color, but I'm not sure.

Church

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone would like to come to my church with me! Yesterday I went to church, and realized how fun it was! There's also this thing called "Small Groups" where people meet together every other Wednesdays, and we just have fun and help each other learn and grow closer to God.

Other than Small Groups, the service times are:
  • Saturday Night Service: 6:40 ish --- 8:00 ish
  • Sunday Morning Service: 11:00 ish --- 12:00 ish
If you're interested in Small Groups, you at least have to first go to one of those services to pick up a sign up sheet.

For more information, go to: www.westgatechurch.org
or call:
(408) 252-3700

And if you are planning on trying it out, just contact me (leave a comment.) Or if you just want to go, then this is the address:
1735 Saratoga Ave
San Jose, CA 95129

I encourage everyone to try this out! Every time I go to this service, I just feel so happy! If you don't plan on coming, then you're missing out on many things!

Wushu/Kung-Fu

I forgot to tell you guys something a few weeks ago. Guess what? So (a few weeks ago) at Wushu/Kung-Fu, I made my arial (not sure about spelling) on my left leg! Now I can do it on both legs! Woohoo!

For people who don't know what arials are, they're just cartwheels except you don't put your hands down on the ground. It's basically like a side flip in the air. It might sound hard to you, but don't worry, it took me a looonnnggg, looooooonnggg time to make it over without putting my hands down. So it's really hard for me too!

French

Speaking of French food, let's talk about French (the language)! I'm taking French at school, but most people take Spanish which I dislike. If any of you gets an opportunity to take a language course at school, French is my recommendation (Chinese is good too).

The French teacher at Miller makes learning really fun and easy, and she's really nice too!

So you're probably wondering about why I'm telling you about all this, right? Well, I want to teach you guys some French in this post! Here are some basic things that people should know how to say: (Those words aren't pronounced like how you think they are pronounced. If you want to know, just ask Janicia!)

-Bonjour=Hello
-Au Revoir=Good bye
-Merci=Thank you
-Ca va?=How are you?/How are things going?/How's everything?
-Je m'appelle...=My name is...
-Comment t'appelles-tu?=What is your name?
and of course...
-Bonbon=Candy!!!
("Bon" means good, so "Bonbon" basically means "goodgood"! But it still means "candy")

French Crepe Recipe (continued...)

So this recipe below is a French Crepe recipe. (I hope you've already figured it out by now. :P) I got this recipe from my brother's French class. They had to translate the recipe from French to English.

Anyway, when Qian Yi came over to my house a few weeks ago, we tried it out! It turned out great, but just remember to use the All Purpose flour instead of the kind of flour people use to make bread. It doesn't make much of a difference, but that's just what the recipe says to do.

By the way, these crepes go really well with the Mascarpone Cheese fruit dip (the recipe is posted below) and fruits!

French Crepe Recipe

Crepes

Ingredients:

-4 large Eggs
-1 1/2 cups of Milk
-1 1/2 cups or Flour

-1/4 teaspoon of Salt

-1 tablespoon or Sugar (optional)
-small piece of Butter
-extra sugar, jam, Nutella, lemon juice, other
optional toppings

Directions:

-Combine eggs and milk with a mixer/by hand.
-Add the flour, salt, and sugar and mix on high speed. (High speed by hand also works! :P)
-Let the batter sit for about 30 minutes.
-Heat up a flat pan on the stove. When it is hot, melt the small piece of butter and then
evenly spread some dough and reduce to medium heat; flip the crepe over when the
contour becomes brown; cook the other side briefly.
-You can use the extra sugar, jam, Nutella, lemon juice, etc. for topping on the crepe.

Daylight Savings

During Sundays (sometimes Saturday night), my family and I go to church. Well, today is Sunday. In the morning, my parents woke my brother and I for church. My other brother always manages to wake himself up early in the morning during the weekends. We got ready, and went to church.

When we arrived, we weren't even late, but the parking lot was literally full with not even one space left! Plus, there are always many crowds of people greeting friends and meeting new people outside of the buildings until the service started. But today, it something was different.

My brother and I walked over to the Off Road (Junior High/Middle School) place, and there were only 3 or 4 adults standing there talking. There are usually 10-20 people that are at least 20 minutes early, but today, there was nobody! I was bending down and looking for my name tag, and the adult turned around. She said to me, "You must have forgotten about Daylight Savings! You're an hour early!" I was like, "Oh" and I had nothing to say. Then the woman said, "Aww, you could have slept in an extra hour!" Then I was like, "Oh" again and my brother and I just walked away.

No wonder nobody was outside! Everyone was in the middle of a service! Haha.

So my family and I went over to O.S.H. (Orchard Supply Hardware) and my dad refunded something. Then, we went over to Barnes & Nobles and read some books!

We finally went back to the church and went to the second service, which is the service we always go to anyways. We go to the second service because the first service doesn't have an Off Road service.

By the way, I was supposed to post this before, like 2-3 weeks ago, but I had it as a draft and I forgot about posting it. So this post is a little late! Sorry everyone!
